Dear Friend of Journey Church,
We need your help in furthering the Kingdom of God through Excel 2011!
The Excel Initiative is a one-year spiritual and financial growth campaign that is starting on March 26, 2010. Excel’s overriding goal is to draw the people of Journey Church into a deeper relationship with Christ by gaining a better understanding of biblical stewardship while at the same time advancing the Kingdom of God in our area.
Primary Personal Objectives of Excel:
- Spiritual Growth and Development through…
o Understanding the difference between stewardship and ownership.
o Obedience vs. Worship.
o Moving beyond the basics towards a generous life.
Primary Kingdom Objectives of Excel:
- Meet a present operating need while we grow into our new facility. ($52,000)
o This helps us to pay the rent, staffing, and for current operational expenses while we continue to grow as a fellowship.
- Upgrade the Youth Annex to better minister to the Next Generation ($50,000)
o Student ministry has been a huge focus of the Church. We realize that the gospel is only as good as the next generation and want to build the youth a wonderful annex that will facilitate concurrent services in both the main sanctuary and the annex.
- Launch our 2nd location (Campus) ($100,000)
o We are presently targeting Clay County to launch our 2nd location. We desire to begin that process as soon as we surpass 1000 people in average weekly attendance at the Jacksonville location. We are almost there – now is the time to prepare. This campus could start and begin reaching people for Christ as early as January 2012.
- Help the needy in our area through the Mercy network.
o A tithe (10%) of all donations received for the Excel Initiative will go directly to assisting the homeless and needy in our own back yard by establishing a location where needy people can be rapidly connected to 75 different church, government, and non-profit agencies that are ready to assist.
How you can participate:
We encourage you to fill out the attached commitment card. Pray about and discuss it as a family and decide what you would be willing to commit to this initiative. Bring your card along with your first and best offering for Excel on Palm Sunday weekend April 16th/17th where we will take up the collection and pledges and have a special time of celebration with regards to what God is doing in the life of this church.
